Automating existing work vehicles by equipping them with I-GINS
Just as smart agriculture, utilizing ICT and robotics for automation and labor-saving, is gaining attention, various industries are increasingly adopting cutting-edge technologies. However, replacing existing equipment with the latest technology often involves significant costs, especially when numerous models are in use, posing a major barrier to implementation.
Our focus has been on developing devices that enable automation at a low cost without discarding existing work vehicles. The result is the 'I-GINS', an autonomous navigation control unit adaptable to a wide range of fields and models.
By making automation technology more accessible, we aim to address the challenges and issues faced across various industries.
About I-GINS
Autonomous navigation control system I-GINS
I-GINS (Integrated GNSS Inertial Navigation System) is a high-precision autonomous navigation control system that combines RTK-GNSS and inertial navigation. It can accurately determine the position and orientation of the vehicle even in poor visibility conditions such as night or fog, and on unstable terrains. Unlike automotive autonomous driving technologies that rely on roads or lane markings, I-GINS can navigate vehicles along predetermined paths without such visual cues. Currently, it is primarily implemented in golf course mowers but is proving beneficial in various fields due to its automation capabilities.
